The beliefs that you hold most solidly form the structure for your worldview. They are the foundation stones upon which the building stands.
The Bible is the inspired word of God. We believe that it is both true and trustworthy. It is without error in the original text. It is thereby the ultimate authority in our lives. This belief affects all others. It informs what we believe about God, Jesus, Sin, Man, Life Love, Marriage, Money, etc.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work..”
— 2 Timothy 3:16-17(ESV)
We believe in one God, the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son & Spirit.
We believe that God is both big and close....He is the powerful creator that is intimately knowable and involved in your life. We also believe that He is both Just and Loving.....He requires righteousness and punishes sin while simultaneously providing that which he requires.
God made you on purpose, to know him and enjoy him. But we were all deceived into wondering if God actually cares about us or wants what is best for us. We thought we could do life better without him. We walked away from God.
But you still matter to him. God chose to come as one of us in the person of Jesus, and chose to be crushed by the weight of our sin, and then rose from the dead to offer us a new way to live.
He is in the process of restoring the world, and he wants to start with you.
There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilization—these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit—immortal horrors or everlasting splendors.
Life is meant to be enjoyed and lived to the full. God intends for us to experience a deep, abiding peace. He provides a way for our deepest hopes to be realized. Unfortunately, sin separates us from God and robs us of the best that He intends....peace, security, joy & significance. Once God has restored you to himself, through faith in Jesus, the rest of life goes through a process of restoration. God restores all of life back to the way it was intended to be....life with a deep sense of security and significance....Life in community with other people..... Life lived with a purpose.
God is in the process of restoring all things back to the way they were intended to be. There will come a day when Jesus fulfills His promise of making all things new. The Bible speaks of a new heaven and a new earth that is free of sin and its effects. Until then, we enjoy the restoration of God in our own lives while looking forward to the restoration that is to come.
